When my boss headed to the Zurich Classic, I commented that it would be nice to join the team for a golf tournament. Last week, I got my chance! I was able to go with Dave Leveille, President of Oxford Golf, and Danny Gee, Vice President of Merchandising + Design to Jacksonville for the week, to check out THE PLAYERS Championship.
I learned so much in such a short amount of time on this trip, and I think you’ll all find it quite interesting, too. Our week started off on Tuesday where we first checked out the Oxford Golf apparel in the TPC Sawgrass Pro-Shop. To our great surprise, the Oxford Golf apparel had been chosen to be the first, and largest, display upon walking into the Clubhouse store, and looked great!
Next, it was off to check out the tents where everyone would have a chance to get a Castlebar Polo of their own, as well as other Oxford Golf performance polos. Everyone really loved the Coral Sea polos, probably because the volunteers at the tournament were all wearing that color. It was great to see so much Oxford Apparel on the course!
The highlight of the week was definitely watching David Toms on the course, and meeting him for the first time. David is a genuinely nice guy, and he was very accommodating to our team as we snapped a few pictures of him on the driving range and during the practice round on Wednesday. I also met his caddie, Scott Gneiser, who hammed it up for the camera a bit, too.
All in all, the week was full of meeting great people, watching some amazing golf, and really digging in when needed to help in the tents. It was a wonderful experience, and I cannot wait until our next trip!
